T O P I C R E V I E WbengutteryI've noticed AB Emblem produces a large (about 8 inch) version of space shuttle mission and expedition patches. Does anyone know why these are made? Who are they are for? How many are made?Bill HuntI'm sure some people enjoy the larger versions. More practically, I imagine there are NASA technicians who wear them on the backs of lab coats and such.Robert PearlmanMontage patches aside, which were created with collectors and enthusiasts in mind, the large format mission patches began (to my knowledge) with STS-114. OV-105I know there are 8 inch patches for the following flights: STS 51-L, STS-26, STS-27, STS-28, STS-29, STS-30, STS-31, STS-33, STS-34, STS-95, STS-114, STS-121.spaced outI can confirm that oversize patches exist (see this thread) for STS-51L, STS-26 and STS-28. I'm not sure when these were made however.astroborgI have a 8 inch 51-L that I got back around the time of the flight, and a 6x5 inch 61C. I can't remember where I purchased them, however.spaced outIt'd be nice to see what the back of the 51L patch looks like.Kevin T. RandallI can add a few more to OV-105 list as I have examples of the following large oversize Shuttle and ISS mission patches manufactured by AB Emblem. (Not all are 8" though, but all are oversize from the normal mission size patch).STS-61C, STS-49, STS-50, STS-107 (Memorial), STS-116, STS-117, STS-118 (Anderson), and STS-118 (Drew).ISS-12, and ISS-13 (Reiter).
